Day 10 Tennessee

Today we drove from Nashville to Memphis after a final look around and agree we could spend more time here. Our guide book says Memphis has given the supermarket, the Holiday Inn and Elvis Presley to the American culure. Memphis is the home of the BBQ and we tasted the local speciality barbequed spaghetti.

We also had a lunch in the Four Way Grill run by Willi Earl Bates and his sister. Willi Earl was unware that their restaurant was recommended by the Rough Guide. This is what the guide says' Convenient for the Stax museum, this spotless little soul food joint - a favourite haunt of Martin Luthore King Jr - dishes up unbeatable blue plate specials, including catfish, smothered chicken, green tomatoes and the like at low price's.
