Day 8 - Nashville, Tennesse

'Start paddling - I can hear banjos'.....said the slogan on a T-shirt in a gift shop here.......
Well we are hearing a lot of banjos today.....as well as continuous sound of the rain! It started overnight as heavy rain and then soon became torrential. Little did we know that this would continue for the next  48+ hours! We have finally made it to Nashville....or Music City USA as they call it, and braved the continuous rain (which made driving unusually stressful!) to make our choice of the many available  tourist things.
There are more churches in Nasville than any other American city. There are also restictions on liquor throughout Tennesse, allowing only the sale of beer and wine.Identity checks at restaurants and shps are the norm here. Even the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchberg does not allow sales` of its product!
So many "Honky-Tonks"..... bars with good local music. We chose Roberts Western World on Broadway (the strip) and they had some really good music. The man in the photograh is Bart Henson who was a singer in the band of a famous female Country and Western singer......  and is also an amazing dancer.....seen here dancing with his fiancee..

  1. Hi big brother ! Sounds like you are both having a great time, even though it must be exhausting. Dolly Parton was on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday, too bad she missed you. Is Elvis alive?
Be careful Jane & Gang xx
